We chose to stay at Treasure Island because it's located conveniently in the center of the Strip and also because self-parking is free, one of the main reasons we decided to stay at TI again, since most of the other hotels are now charging for parking.
We arrived at TI late on a weekday evening and after a painfully long check-in, we were given an upgraded room (I think they may have overbooked ours).
The upgraded room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. But the bathroom condition left much to be desired. The shower had obvious mold in the grout and the water would NOT drain quickly enough. We had to turn the water completely off every 2 minutes in order to allow the water to drain so we weren't standing in dirty water.
The bar soap was generic and extremely drying and left a film on the skin and in the sink. We used our own toiletries the rest of our stay.
The other issue was the fridge that was kept in the closet in the bathroom. We didn't even realize it was there until the night before we checked out. We could have really used it had we known it was there.
The wifi was quite good, though I had to re-enter my credentials a couple times to get it going during my stay.
The pool area is basic and clean. Lounge chairs get snapped up quickly. Pool staff need to make rounds and collect towels off the chairs so other guests can use them (guests should be courteous enough to pick their towels off the lounge chairs when they leave but it doesn't always happen).
The pool bar staff come around the pool and take orders but don't pick up the signed bill quickly. I had to exit the pool hand deliver it to the bar area because it had been so long.
The guest service desk was very courteous. Our resort fees allow us 10 printouts and so I went down to print out our show tickets and had no trouble.
Check-out at the desk was quick. Told them about our drain issue and they said they'd let housekeeping know. I got the feeling they were just waving it off, I don't even think they made a note of it. I feel bad for the next guest that gets that room.
We'll probably just stay suck it up and pay for parking and stay at one of the nicer hotels next time. TI is ok if you're on a budget and don't mind some housekeeping issues. And the exterior of the hotel could use a makeover.
