| - Holiday Inn is usually my go-to hotel while traveling, but this is not one of the best and most updated one I've ever stayed at. The grounds and lobby seem like they've had more upgrades than anything.
In the last 4 to 5 years, I've stayed here nearly every spring. I will say that some changes have occurred for the better. Previously, you couldn't get hot water for hours. Now, it isn't as bad. Water pressure still isn't the greatest, however. It takes forever to wash hands and shower, which is ridiculous! Internet service was intermittent and that is crucial when you are traveling and looking for places in the surrounding area. The a/c doesn't always work and housekeeping isn't the best. One year, the elevators were out of service. Thank goodness there isn't a lot of floors! I've checked into a room and had to be moved because of multiple issues. Dirty towels were left on the floor next to the bed and trash was on the table near the front couches. The free breakfast for premium members was the worse! You're better off spending money elsewhere.
Bathrooms are still outdated and very cramped. Luckily the sink is outside and in the bedroom area. One plus is that all rooms are suites. The living area, sink, microwave, and fridge gives this place a plus. Rooms on the front side seem to be more updated than ones on the back side, by the way.
This year's check-in was much better than previous years. The first night, friends and I shared a 2 bedroom suite. It wasn't bad. The new manager (male) was very helpful. We asked one of the new employees to see if we could check in early after a 6 hour drive. Though, we weren't thrilled when told the current occupant "wouldn't leave" and tried to overstay and rebook the room another night.
When we went to the counter the next morning to see if our 2 separate rooms were available for the remaining nights, I didn't like how another manager (?) walked over peering over this young lady's shoulder as if she was doing something shady. I thought that was very rude. She could've asked id the hostess needed assistance, which she didn't. Otherwise, no one asked for her assistance!!
