This optician came highly recommended by a co-worker and seeing as it had been 2 years since my last exam I was definitey due for a check up. Like a number of Calgarians (especially those in recycled air filled office buildings) I suffer from chronically dry eyes and was hoping for some assistance as well as a thorough eye exam. I saw Dr. Annie Drouin and was very pleased with her attention to detail and meticulous exam. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that my eyesite has improved over the last year and she would really only recommend lens for night driving. All of the appropriate tests were done, she took a good look into my eyes to rule out any and all indication of disease. She also provided me with a prescription for drops to assist with the dryness (and confirmed I was in good company with the majority of Calgarians) along with a couple of samples to try. Short of moving to the coast and/or eliminating any all allergans (no I'm not getting rid of the cats) dry eyes are just something I will need to continue to manage. The selection of frames at City Focus is pretty extensive. I'm a big fan of Danish design when it comes to eyewear and I saw that this style was well represented with names I recognized and a few new surprises. Cost wise is competitive with other non-chain opticians but I figure if I want pretty/unique frames I'm going to have to pay and this ain't no two for one deal kinda thing. May shop around for my frames but will definitely be back for the eyecare.
