| - Can't say enough good things about Hubbard Family Swim School!
We wanted to get our nine month old into swim lessons to get him familiar with the water and start teaching him some practical water safety. We've been with Hubbard for going on a year, and love everything about it. The staff is amazing, from the front desk folks to the instructors to the supervisors - even the snack bar staff is friendly, upbeat and helpful. The first teacher we had (Brittney) was SO good with our son, to the point where we could see not only his progress but that he was excited to go to his swim lesson every week.
We just moved up a class and have a new teacher (Jimmy) and he's just as awesome. Neither instructor pushes when a child isn't ready or "in the mood" to do something, and there are lots of games and fun times in a structured setting. The instructors are all about consistency and ensuring that the kids move at their own pace vs. a more competitive style of teaching... which is fantastic for toddler-aged kids, especially.
It's clear that everything is very closely supervised - from the sign-up process to the time in the pool. It's also obvious that they train their staff very well, which is much appreciated when there are so many kids at so many different levels of ability. Hubbard's online system for class sign-ups and make-ups is very quick and easy as well, and they are excellent in terms of communication via phone and email. The facility is clean and secure, the pool water is warm and the pool area itself is kept heated so no one is freezing when they get out of the water.
Even though it's a bit of a hike to get to the 32nd St. location from where we live, it's totally worth it. To us, Hubbard is a worthwhile investment - not just for swim lessons but also as a fun thing to look forward to every week!
