| - When visiting Vegas we have primarily stayed at Mandalay Bay, first time to MGM Grand. Taxi right to the front door as it should, front entrance and lobby well kept and looks good. Check in process was smooth and the desk clerk was professional and helpful. Short distance to the elevator, nice when you have a lot of luggage. We were there for a week on floor 28, room 134. On the negative side, room was obviously old, stained carpet, view not clear due to advertising banner over the window, heater did not work, wall paper damage, dried splattered something on the art over the desk. On the positive side, layout was good, internet connection was satisfactory, and the cleaning service did a great job. Every single staff member we met in the hotel were enthusiastic, helpful, and friendly whether it be room staff, bartender, wait staff, casino cocktail waitress's, or whatever. Also, when we found out the pillows were feather they replaced them immediately as my wife is highly allergic to anything & everything fowl. Hotel had a great layout, plenty of great restaurants both high end and for budget minded. We tried 7 or 8 of them but not the buffet as my wife and I are just not into the buffet type dining. Had our best meals at Michael Mina Pub 1842 and TAP Sports Bar, but even though it did not make best meal for us Crush & Fish House has outstanding service.
There was lots of shopping options and shows. I have been to Vegas about 25+ times, but our first time to see David Copperfield and it was the highlight of our entire week in Vegas. Great sports area for betting even won some money. Sweet! For the first time joined the M-Life program. In short loved the casino, restaurants, shopping, hotel in general, just didn't think much of the room.
