| - When I was dating my (now) husband, he told me he did most of his shopping here. Where I came from, Drug Mart was kind of a small, junky, dated place that didn't have a lot of stuff outside of pharmacy items. I couldn't imagine why anyone would do any, much less most of their shopping there.
Then I came to Independence! Whoa! I mean seriously, you can go to the Metro Health civic, get your prescriptions filled, and get your weekly groceries while waiting. Need something to eat with that new medication? Hit up the Bluestone Cafe up front, next to the clinic. Fried chicken, wraps, sandwiches, rotisserie chicken, and salads?! Seriously, in a Drug Mart??! FREAKING AWESOME! Really, the food is fresh and will have you coming back for more. While you're there get your groceries and maybe housewares, cosmetics, jewelry, and some clothes. They have so much stuff there, yet it's not like a big box store where you feel like you're wandering aimlessly for hours, no hope of help. Pretty epic beer selection too, for a non-specialty store!
There's always employees or management walking around and they're pretty much all very helpful; those that might not know where something is will find someone who does.
Just don't forget to sign up for that frequent shopper card. You can get free items in store, or sports tickets. Oh yeah, they have discount tickets to a lot of special events, like IX Center type stuff, and some sports stuff too (I'm not much in to sports, but I've seen that stuff there.)
