The short version is -- they misdiagnosed my problem and then held my home warranty hostage for over a month! STAY AWAY!
Now here's the full story -- When my pool pump stopped working, Lost Dutchman was sent to my house by the home warranty company. Dutchman's rep claimed the problem was the underground power wiring, which is not covered by the home warranty, and quoted me a very expensive repair.
I called an electrician for a second estimate on the power line since it wasn't going to be covered, and he said it was NOT the underground wiring, but rather the connection to the circuit breaker. This is covered by the home warranty, so I get a quote to submit.
Here's where Lost Dutchman goes from 2-star (for an incorrect estimate) to a 1-star. They refused for over 30 days to submit the paperwork (cancelling the job) to the home warranty folks, which held up the repair from the qualified electrician. I fully believe their intent was to force me to work with them, since a month without a pool pump is disastrous for the water. I didn't play their games, and will never call them again. Furthermore, I didn't renew my home warranty in case they tried to send Lost Dutchman again!
