We applied for a home loan in April 2015 for 75k. We were given a Good faith estimate accordingly. We provided all required financials. We had to pay $400 out of pocket expense for appraisal. Our appraisal came in at 241k and the value of our home was $60k more than anticipated on original good faith estimate. That was in our favor. In mid June, they changed offer to $14k. Keep in mind, there has been no change in our income. I refused their offer and am out $400 for appraisal. They do business unethically. Also, keep this in mind, due to their inability to review our loan in a timely fashion, they ran a hard credit check twice on my wife and I, drastically lowering our credit score. If you are into losing money and having your credit score compromised....than I highly recommend Deer Valley CU. They have poor customer service and have reduced their hours since we've been with them. We will be closing our accounts and moving elsewhere.
