  • So we came out for Monster Jam....Friday, we had a great experience. They really pack the people in and there is not a ton of space per "seat," but it was not too bad. Same with Saturday, the view and actual show were great, if a little bit squashed. Food and beer offerings were pretty typical of a stadium venue-- not awesome and slightly overpriced, but ok. My issue is with the stadium employees and their knowledge about what can and cannot be brought inside. Friday, we went through bag check-- no problem. Saturday, a man and woman at bag check tried to confiscate my camera. They kept shouting "no big camera. no big camera! (my camera is a Panasonic Lumix FZ70-- so not tiny, but still a point-and-shoot with no attachments or crazy zoom lenses or anything. At its full extension it's about an inch longer than the wide-angle). Finally another woman came and looked at it and said it was fine (while all of this was going on, the group in front of us scammed in 5 children on three tickets-- I know this because they spent the 40 minutes we were waiting in line talking about how they were going to carry the infants and make the 4-yr-olds sit in the strollers to appear younger. I don't know where they sat, but I'm sure that was WILDLY unpleasant for their neighbors). I get that there was a language barrier, and in the end we still got in and had a great night, but still-- they need to make sure their employees know what can and cannot come through the door!
