| - I chose Sassy because of favorable Yelp reviews. I travel for work and get my nails done out of town once a month, but still havent found a great place in Charlotte to get a long-lasting gel polish when I am home.
I was pleased that when I went in, although it was busy, I got in at my appointment time (thanks for taking appointments). The salon looked clean and the polish selection was very good.
I noticed that they serve alcohol. I'm sure that might be fun if you went with some friends or after work. The people working there were also very nice, and I appreciated that they use a fresh file and buffer vs. some salons that use the same emery board for multiple customers (yuck).
They discount 5% for cash, too. Smart move.
So why only two stars?
Two hours after I got back home, my gel polish "blistered" on three fingers. I have never had gel polish bubble like that before. I called the salon immediately and they asked if I wanted to come back in. Unfortunately, I live 30 minutes away, so had to come back on the next business day.
In fairness, they offered to repair the three nails, but by then I had already seen some slight separation around the edges, etc, so I just asked for them to be removed and to get a refund, which they kindly obliged. I still would have given three stars at this point, but now that a week has gone by since my manicure, I am having a dreadful time with skin peeling around my cuticles. I asked my manicurist not to cut the live cuticle, but she really cut a lot around the cuticle line, and four of my fingers are quite raw. I dont know if she was new at doing nails, but my experience was enough that I just won't go back to try again.
