My wife and I had high hopes for this restaurant. We sat down and ordered cocktails. I ordered the bacon Bloody Mary and the wife ordered a mimosa. The drinks were fantastic, fresh OJ for the mimosa and crispy bacon in the Bloody Mary. Our server seemed a little overwhelmed but she was attentive. The menu had a great variety of classic dishes as well as signature dishes for the restaurant. My wife ordered Classic eggs Benedict and I ordered steak and eggs. The wait for the food was roughly 20 minutes which seemed pretty average for a moderately busy breakfast restaurant. Pretty much at this point we had a very good 4 star experience so far. The food is where they lost it for us. First my steak and eggs was described as 3 eggs any style with chucks of sirloin, caramelized onions, jalapeño and choice of potatoes. This is not what I got. I got steak strips so over cooked and tough floating in a liquid mixture of chopped jalapeño and soggy caramelized onion and topped with eggs. I was baffled at what it was. I asked the server and she said it was a pan jus which is added. I tried the eggs and a couple pieces of the flavorless steak and soggy onions but I just couldn't. My wife's Benedict was cold when she told the server, the sever explained the hollandaise Is room temp so it may seem cold but she would throw it in the microwave to heat it up. The microwave?!?! Really? My wife could not cut through the English muffin it was so stale and the ham was a salt lick. Overall not good. The only thing both my wife and I agreed on was the home fries were very good. The manager came over and explained the pan jus and that it's the recipe. I told him it's not on the menu and I would have asked or ordered something else. He agreed and removed it from the bill. He was very professional and apologetic. I wish I could give more than 2 stars but the one thing you go to a restaurant for is the food and it was no more than a 2.
