| - This is our family barbershop - Mr Vegetarian and I both get our hairs cute here. My barber is Neil, a cheerful Irishman (as in, just moved here in the last six months) with a cheerful demeanor and a very steady hand. I've been all over the place in the last few years, hair wise, and was ready for something longer but stylish in a hairstyle, so I said to Neil "I would like to look professional, but still gay," and he said "no problem." And indeed! It wasn't. I got, and continue to get, a really nice and consistent haircut.
I like the online reservation system, the eclectic vintage decor, and the easygoing air of masculinity that suggests it's a spot for a solid cut and a nice shave without going full bro about it. I don't need a beer and a girly magazine and eleven channels of sports and a pool table and a girl in a bustier at the front. I didn't want to go to frat houses even when I was at school, no matter how much free beer there was. I just want a good haircut and not to have to worry that someone is going to put geranium-pomegranate lotion on me without checking with me first.
This place is also, from what I hear, very friendly to butches and trans dudes and nonbinary gender folks who are interested in a barber cut. No nonsense about not giving a "man's cut" to someone they don't think is a man. The vibe supports this completely.
ALSO Neil recommended I condition my beard with some kind of oil, and now I do, and it's a game changer. I am silky soft now.
