| - My review is primarily based on the tamales that are available for purchase on the weekends.
I purchased red beef and green corn tamales on a whim. The green corn were nearly too salty the first batch I bought, but still pretty good flavoring. The red beef were under salted, but also had good flavor. However, a few of the red beef tamales were nearly all fat (and there isn't a huge amount of filling to begin with). The second batch of green corn tamales weren't too salty at all, but were still very minimally filled.
I decided to go out of my way to place an order for green corn tamales, and was told I would receive a call the following day when they were ready for pickup. I did receive a call in the late afternoon with a voicemail saying they weren't able to fill the order, but the tamales would be available for pickup the next weekend instead. No biggie, I understood.
The next weekend, I was told I didn't have an order for tamales because they called and left a voicemail explaining they couldn't fill the order and to call and place another order. Uh, no - you told me they'd be ready the following weekend.
Bottom line: tamales have decent enough flavor, but the filling is minimal and hit or miss. I won't be ordering or buying tamales here again, because of the lackluster customer service and average quality tamales. I'd pay more for a decent amount of filling and better service.
