  • There are two types of dealerships, 1 wants to sell cars and is willing to deal to get it done. The other only wants to sell when they make max profits. This place falls into the second category. I've tried twice, I have excellent credit, money for a down payment and fairly realistic expectations but I want a decent deal. Both times they could have had a sale but they would not budge. Both times negotiations were a failure. The first time we weren't even in the ballpark on my trade value. I went to another dealership was offered substantially more for my trade and bought a car. The second time we didn't even get that far. We were discussing a 4runner, for some reason a used 4runner was priced the same as a new one. The salesman recommended the new 4runner as the better deal for us. During our discussion, he left and returned with a second salesman. The other salesman started using every ridiculous sales tactic under the sun. Even when he realized they were not working (and commented on it) he still used them. He completely contradicted everything the first salesman said. He praised the used vehicle and how a used car has a better warranty than new. It was to the point where my wife and I were convinced he was purposely undermining the sale. I do my homework before I go and know exactly what the car is worth, what my car is worth and where payments will be. The second salesman's payments were astronomically higher than what they should have been. We were a couple thousand apart but the salesman made it cler there was zero chance of the sale. We also discussed a different vehicle, another dealership had a similar one for 4k less. It ended with him recommending we buy from a different dealership. I am not sure if it was a rivalry between salesman but the second guy killed any chance at a deal. I am convinced purposely. Another issue I have is the mob of salesman waiting in the parking lot. You cant even get out of your car and they are on you. I compare it to the Geico rate sucker commercials where they jump on your hood and suck onto your windshield. On the plus side, they have a tremendous inventory and an excellent service department. Unfortunately, if you're an educated buyer you will struggle.
