| - First and foremost, the store is one of the only places that carries the dress I've been looking for. I emailed the store asking if they carried the dress, and was pleasantly surprised to get an email back on Sunday from Suzanne herself. She said they had the dress, and she thought it was $799 (exactly what had budgeted for, but I was willing to go up to $900-$1,00 if I really loved it). I was so excited, I told my wedding party, parents, and some close friends that Suzannes had what I wanted for my exact price, too good to be true right? YUP. Per Suzannes email, I did call to double check they had it in stock and ensure the price, and the rude person on the phone informs me it's $999, no discounts, no exceptions, even if Suzanne quoted me $799. That's a very big discrepancy for a bride on a budget. I don't enjoy being mislead.
Having searched for this dress for a long time, I was upset. But my mom and fiancé convinced me to go see it in person and make sure I even liked it.
So My parents and grandmother drove down from Prescott to look with me. We were all so very excited as we've been discussing wedding stuff for what feels like forever. I made the appointment and was told we'd be squeezed in, so I figured we'd have to wait. We waited about 15 minutes until we were able to go into a "changing room", which if you are a modest bride, is a joke as it was a CURTAIN for a door.
As the woman helped me unzip the dress, I was so excited. But then I started to notice a few things. I started noticing the hard sale from the associate, and also noticed how DIRTY the dress was. I understand it's a "sample", but it had brown spots from dirt, makeup, and I don't even want to know what else. The bottom of the dress was black from the dirty floors. It was disgusting.
I was so disappointed I couldn't stand it. I nicely tried on the dresses the woman kept bringing in, but they weren't what I wanted at all. Needless to say I tried on three dresses, immediately put my regular clothes on, grabbed my angry family members, and bolted.
All they could discuss the rest of the day was how disgusting the floors were and how dirty the dress was. I'm pretty positive if Maggie Sottero read this review, their partnership with her would be gone. I had to scrub my feet when I got home because they were black from the ground.
When I plan to buy the dress, I will 100% be going to one of the Scottsdale retailers and giving THEM my business.
