I am so torn. I loved the old market when it was in the old Currie Barracks location. This one is still enjoyable, and a great way to spend a weekend afternoon poking about, but it has suffered for the rebranding. It has lost many of its produce vendors and has become more of a big food court. There seem to be more food court vendors than food and produce vendors. There are also too may crafty and artesenal stalls for my liking, with many items that I know are not local (many made in china specials).
I also wish the food court vendors wouldn't upsell and only offer big portions and big prices. I know your rent must be high, but come on!
I will still go and support this market, because I think it is an asset to Calgary, but I wish the vision would shift back to being a real "farmers market".
