| - My opener gear broke off that drives the movement of the chain that lifts and lowers the door. My home owners warranty company sent Tom from Cactus Garage Doors to repair it. Tom was on time, fast, professional and neat. He walked me through the repair he made - I like to ask a lot of questions so I can learn how things work.
My garage door has always been quite noisy since I bought the house last year. He showed me that the metal rollers were worn and in places not even contacting the tracks. He suggested replacing them, and I agreed to that - it greatly reduced the noise, and I can see the difference in how the rollers now meet the tracks.
As I'm thinking of replacing a couple panels on the door this fall due to big dents present when I bought the place, he answered my questions about that - and happened to have product literature with him for my doors. He came prepared.
All in all, working with Tom/Cactus was all good.
UPDATE: I decided to go ahead with replacing the door panels. I actually got a good deal for replacing the entire door, including two springs instead of one. I was able to match the brand, style and color of the old doors - useful given HOA requirements. We did reuse the new rollers I got last summer as they were better quality than the standard ones that came with the door panels.
Chase arrived on time - actually a bit early. Given the size of the door panels I was surprised that this was a one-person job, but Chase was very efficient, and completed the job with time to spare, and like Tom was professional and neat. And also as with Tom, above, I asked a lot of questions about it and appreciated his answers.
So now I've used Cactus for two very different garage door-related jobs, and I've been quite happy with both experiences. So that's now two 5-star experiences with Cactus.
