I've been to New Orleans many times and have experienced some great Cajun style food, so I have pretty high standards. For the most part, from what I've ordered, CQ does a decent job. I've been twice and ordered the Étouffée both times because it's very good. It's got the perfect amount of spice that pairs well with an ice cold Abita. The BBQ shrimp is a great app as well. It's not so much about the shrimp as it is the sauce you dip the bread in. Delicious. My girlfriend was hit and miss with her entrees in the 2 times we've been. The shrimp Diane was just OK. It's a lighter consistency than the Étouffée and doesn't have the kick I look for when I'm in the mood for Cajun. The shrimp and grits weren't good at all. The grits were bland and the blackened shrimp didn't hit the mark.
Overall, I enjoy coming here, but the prices are a little high in my opinion. They have a Groupon & Living Social pretty much all the time, so don't forget to grab one before you go!
