| - I've been here several time. Working in hospitality I usually recommend this to my guests, my top recommendation when I worked down town. Love the wild boad duo, and the scallops appetizer, and the risotto is always excelent. Service is always good. Ambiance is always very pleasant, and the music is great as well. Food is very pricey for small portions but the flavor is worth it for the most part and who needs all the extra calories? But not the place if you're super hungry. The most recent time I went I was very disappointed. It was for my birthday, and that is the only time we really spend the big bucks on a dinner, $200 once a year for my birthday is a splurge I don't mind doing provided the meal is worth that. We got calamari which is normally great, but this time it was very salty. I got the scallops diner since I like the scallops appetizer so much. The stuff below the scallops straight up sucked, it was not to my taste. I usually will not send a plate back because I worry about servers or cooks spitting in my food. So I asked for risotto instead, and it was good but it was a tiny little saucer, and I was still left feeling hungry. My boygfriend got the salmon which he also said was on the salty side. He would never comlain and would be mortified if I did. I got their take on key lime as my birthday cake, and how disappointing! The key lime part was partially frozen, and the pistaccio crust was very bland like a stale cracker. I was excited about it because I love pistaccios and key lime is a favorite dessert, how disappointing! I expect more when I drop money like that on a dinner out that I only do once a year. I gave two stars for all the other amazing meals I've had there in the past, and all the great guest experiences I have heard back from my guests I have sent there. When I called to talk to the manager he kind of blew the situation off and didn't offer anything in return. This one meal may seem insignificant in the grand scheme of all their business but it wa a big deal to me, and that is a lot of money and I have certain expectations when I drop that kind of cash. I will tell you this, I spent the same amount the previous year at the Fig Tree, and was extremely satisfied and had no issues so I'll probably go back there for my birthday from now on. Unfortunatley their scallops aren't quite as good, but they are good enough to go back given the difference in experience between the two. I have spent several years on the fanatic side of Blue, taking my girlfriends there, and dining for special celebrations but after this experience I'm not sure when I'll be back. I love the scallop appetizer and have not found it's equal so I will be back eventauly because I can't resist their temptation but it will be a while as I'm soured on Blue right now. I don't know that I'll recommend my guests here any more. Sorry, Blue, I used to be in love with you, but we've grown apart.
