| - I ordered a couch here from the HGTV Home Design selection. I specifically chose to order from this store, despite better sales making it a bit more expensive than some of the surrounding stores like Ethan Allen, because they promised the couch would be delivered in 30 days. 7 days prior to the 30 day deadline I gave the store a call to ask about delivery since I hadn't heard anything. The woman I spoke to couldn't find my order processing in the system, and the next day, when I spoke to a different employee, it turned out that the order had never been entered and only after I called was it sent to be manufactured. The 30 day deadline was September 23rd. I specifically ordered so that it would be ready by then because on the following Monday I started a demanding job that gives me no leeway to be home in the middle of the day waiting for a couch delivery. Now I'm looking at October 5th as the earliest this couch can be delivered, and because they don't offer after hours delivery, I'm not even sure how I'll manage to accept it. For all my troubles, Bassett offered me $200 off the couch. That comes out to be a measly 7% discount, which does not compensate me the extent of this hassle and inconvenience. If I had known the 30 day guarantee was false advertising and that the store is so disorganized that they can't even properly in put an order, I would never have ordered from here. As it is, I definitely have no plans of ever buying from them again. I also haven't once heard back from my original sales woman. I guess they only care about you until they get your commission, and then they couldn't care less.
EDIT: I spoke to the manager, got an increased amount off of my purchase, and finally today my couch arrived, so I'm upping my star rating. This was still a difficult process that I wish had gone smoother, but I do appreciate Bassett staff for finally getting this sorted.
