| - Hard to find the studio, masseuse was distracted, environment wasn't very relaxing, and less than time paid for was given.
I really wanted to like this experience and was looking for the big picture, but all the small things seem to have made it fall short of my experience.
Firstly I arrived early to the venue to make sure I wasn't late. When I got to the building, there was no mention of the studio, while there were listings of a few of the other businesses in the building. I whipped my BlackBerry out and after some extensive research (since the suite number was not listed on the group deal voucher I bared) I managed to find the suite number on the "Appointments" part of the website. It wasn't there under the "Contact Us" so that took me a bit of time. Next, I found out that the elevator was locked out of the 4th floor and the stairway was also locked. I tried calling the masseuse however I got her voicemail, so I left her a message and sent her an e-mail to call me back as I couldn't find the studio. She eventually called me back and said that the floor is now open. I confirmed the suite number with her to which she responded, "of course."
Either way, she had me fill out a form defining what areas of my body were sore and what-not as well as an agreement of the services provided. Below the signature part of the form, there was a section added by pen saying that the taxes were not included on the group deal vouchers. I asked her if that included the one I bared as it specifically stated that it was included in the price of the voucher, and she replied that because of her books, she needed to have it covered. Now we communicated via e-mail prior to the appointment several times (she never returned my initial call when I initially left her a voicemail in attempt to make an appointment), so she had more than enough of an opportunity to let me know about the taxes situation before coming in.
When she had me come in several minutes after the appointment was supposed to have started, so sat me down and discussed some details for a few more minutes.
Throughout the massage, she got up to stop and change the CD that the music was playing on. She also stopped and shuffled through some papers in the middle of the massage, presumably confirming she knew how to make certain of the massage moves. There was a fair amount of day light coming in due to one of the doors being left open, and the fact that she kept on giving me instructions on how to lie, push down on a body part etc. made it hard for me to release and relax. I understand that part of this is a part of the type of massage that is involved in a Thai massage, but all-in-all, there were a number of ways that the experience could've been made more relaxing.
At the end, she asked me for the taxes and eventually I asked her how much that was as I couldn't remember how much I paid for the voucher.
Due to the over-all experience not working out for me, I wouldn't return to Massage Oasis Pro.
