  • I am an artist, and some times will buy interesting art at thrift shops. I bought a piece about 2 years ago and have since been trying to read the signature. Finally, after many Google searches, I found that the artist had more work for sale on Saavy Collector. I called to inquire about what the piece might be worth. Like I stated, I am an artist, not a collector. I don't really know how appraisal works. I received a call back from Saavy Collector and the woman on the other end was less than pleasant. She was rude, explaining that it doesn't work that way and she can't give me an appraisal over the phone. Sure, I totally understand. I really wasn't looking for that per se. I was more looking for an appointment with her for an appraisal. Or even to chat about how lovely this artists pieces are! I did not appreciate her rudeness and will not suggest her to fellow artists.
