| - After reading the reviews and knowing that it was a school, I had visions of a huge campus. It was much smaller than I expected, BUT we still really, really enjoyed this tour DESPITE the sourpuss of a tour guide that we had. Maybe because we were the last tour of the day, but boy, was she miserable. She also sped the tour along so fast that there was hardly time to take photos.
At every checkpoint, she recited her little spiel in a monotone-like fashion and ended it with, "does anyone have any questions?" I did!! I had lots! Well, I started out with lots. Each time she would give me a nasty look and was so unwilling to answer questions, I stopped asking.
Heaven forbid if you were a straggler on the tour because you were held up taking pictures. This guide was not afraid to reprimand one lady on our tour more than once even though she wasn't even that far behind. The second time she even said, "Well, you wouldn't be asking that question if you were here to hear me explain it. " Wow, really? That's how you treat your guests?
Fortunately, That prude of a tour guide's overly-rehearsed info about Mr. Wright was so fascinating that it didn't deter us from enjoying the rest of the tour.
So for future tour goers, stay with your group and be sure to practice a quick trigger finger on your camera because you aren't allowed to roam the grounds on your own.
