This by far has been the worst hotel experience in my life. We reserved and pre-paid for this room via hotels.com because of traveling with our dog; we arrived around 2 AM and the front desk employee barely greeted us. We got our room key and went upstairs to the dingy hallway where half the hotel room doors were open/left ajar. The room was dirty - dirty carpets, disgusting bathroom including hair on the floor and tub. I wouldn't even let my dog sleep on the carpet of that room! We called the front desk and my husband went to get a key for another room - the room next door was also dirty plus the lamp shade was broken and hanging. My husband and I were getting tired of this game at 2.20 in the AM. Back downstairs, my husband got 3 room keys and inspected all 3 rooms that were equally dirty and disgusting. We decided to leave - no refund since we prepaid, went across to the Holiday Inn where the rooms were clean and the staff was pleasant.
I contacted Howard Johnson at least 4 times and asked to talk to the Mgr, who NEVER called back or acknowledged our complaints. I called Howard Johnson Corporate - they took no action despite the email I sent to the President of the company.
By far this was the worst service, experience, staff, and brand to ever choose.
