  • The Island Yacht Club is a joke. We spent months planning a very special event to take place at their facility and at the last minute they completely screwed us by telling us that they were no longer holding private events. Our initial first impression was very positive. The space is pretty and the staff were attentive. Once high season began the staff became impossible to deal with. It often took two weeks to get them to respond. When we went over to have dinner to try the food we were less than impressed. Some dishes were just ok while others were completely inedible. The worst thing was that multiple stalls in the women's washroom had backed up during a wedding that day creating a terrible mess and stench. Hours later they had not fixed the plumbing or cleaned up the space leaving the women's washroom totally unusable. One person in our group had been a member at the Spoke Club which has partnered with the IYC. This is why we went to the IYC in the first place. While staff at the Spoke Club initially met with us about our concerns, ultimately they did nothing to help fix the situation. The IYC, their staff and their leadership are absolutely pathetic. They cannot handle the simplest tasks and have no idea what professionalism means. If you are considering joining the club or holding an event take my advice and steer clear of this place.
