| - I was so lucky to sample a ricotta based gelato, mezcal, and strawberry juniper as well. Holy smokes! They were not at all what I expected.
All three had an off-the-wall flavor profile. The mezcal had cinnamon in it, but didn't taste overwhelming with it. It was tangy, truly. The ricotta was sweet yet buttery. The strawberry juniper was one of my favorites (unfortunately someone else ordered it, I only got to sample). The strawberry tasted real and fresh, the extra kick from juniper just made the flavor pop.
The guy (they mentioned the chef(?) was a guy) really knows how to make flavors pop. I want to come back because if you look at the list of other, past, gelato flavors, you'd be intrigued as well. Grilled cheese gelato anyone? Yep, that one stood out for me.
Inside, there's a decent amount of seating, hot menu items to order (next time I will) and some locally made grocery items. It fosters a little community and network of businesses. Bravo.
If you eat here, ask to sample the gelato. They will let you, like most places. Don't be afraid to be zaney in your choice.
