| - What a fabulous little gem in this unsuspecting neighborhood!
What was originally supposed to be a quick chat with a friend turned into salads and bottomless cups of coffee and pastries
The Salad Niçoise was massively perfect, and the salad Bayonne (french prosciutto) was decadently satisfying. Their cheese selection blows some of the other specialty cheese shops (Leslieville, Alex Farm, the Boutique) away.
However, the most enjoyable part about this shop/cafe/resto/bistro is its unabashed French aesthetic. From the rumbling refrigerator, to the narrow sitting area, to the generous boeuf bourguignon (for just $10!), to the requisite croquembouche on the counter, to the adorable young and spritely girls that tend the shop with top buns, everything transported me back to a simple town shop in France.
For a bonus treat, ask for cannelés and they will be fed straight into your hands - no plate, no need.
