| - I recently stayed here for three nights on a work trip. It was actually my second time staying here- the first, coincidentally, for a trip in grad school.
This is an older hotel, with an interesting mob history. It's not luxurious, but it does the trick for a relatively inexpensive price. I recommend doing early checkin then picking up your keys and room directions at one of the kiosks instead of the front desk. In today's day and age, why wait 20 minutes to check in when they give you that option?
Negatives: Very few amenities here. No fridge, which would have been nice for my stay. The room wasn't great, dirty floor, safe locked with door open (had to get a guy to open it), etc. but it wasn't horrendously awful either. In my quest for cheap hotel rooms I have certainly seen worse. Lots of resort fees and a $50 deposit per night, but they are upfront about it. I'm guessing most Vegas hotels charge you a couple hundred in fees as well.
Worst: the Wyndham timeshare people! I kept getting harassed by them. Practically a dozen times. "Excuse me ma'am where are you from?" They will hunt you down from across the casino and start an unrequited conversation with you. I did some research and it's all a scam, but that's pretty obvious from their marketing techniques and persistence. Flamingo please get rid of these shady, annoying people!
Now positives: parking in their garage is free, which was nice. Location is central to the strip, and right off the Linq area of restaurants and attractions. It's part of Caesar's, so your purchases go towards Total Rewards if you're into that thing. Also, the birds and fish outside are pretty cool. I got covered in ants while watching them though so watch out for that.
Next time, if I'm traveling for fun I will book a nicer hotel but for the purpose, it worked.
