Sakana - a Japanese term referring to food eaten as an accompaniment to alcohol. As the name suggests, this is a great place to drink, eat, and have a great time among friends.
This small, homey, and unpretentious restaurant offers top-notch sushi. Ordering a bottle of Kirin is a must; or better yet a sake bomb, because with every bottle of beer you are offered a $.50 appetizer of your choice. Everything is affordable and can be shared. I have yet to come across something that I didn't like, and DO NOT forget to order one of the specials off the dry erase board.
The only drawback is the wait during peak hours, but this can be avoided if you come at the right time. Give this spot a chance. Yoshie and the rest of the friendly staff will treat you to the best sakana, and an experience that will not disappoint.
