| - Thobor's is the real thing: Un vrai patisserie francais somehow misplaced in North Toronto. It's a family affair, and it shows.
How french is it? Place your order en francais, pas de probleme. The family and all of their staff speaks french, particularly amongst themselves. Many of the key ingredients are imported (such as belgian butter), because local ingredients don't give the same results. But in season, you'll find fresh local fruits are always used.
Almost always the very best you'll find anywhere - although to be certain, you might want to verify that what you're buying is fresh that day, as things can occasionally get held over on a slow day. And the coffee is usually good, but not always great.
I wouldn't say Thobor's is perfect, but it's honest and real and delightful, and I'll recommend it to anyone. As for the line-ups some complain about - that's the real french experience, too.
