 | - I always had an interest in learning how to dance, especially hip hop, but I never took the first step such as signing up for actual lessons. I finally bought a 10 class pass at 50% off during the summer sale in early May so it was only around $85 after taxes. There is a constantly updated class schedule on their website and it is extremely easy and fast to sign up or cancel. I do wish that they offer more selection in terms of times / days that classes are offered.
I was extremely impressed when I first entered the studio which is a short walk from Yonge-Bloor station. It is spacious, clean, and minimalistic with an equally pleasant restroom. Studio A is really big, has great lighting, cubicles to put away personal items during class, and a mirrored wall. I've also been to Studio B which is slightly underwhelming as it is smaller, gets really warm and stuffy, and there's a pole in between which can block the instructor.
I really enjoy all my lessons here (I've tried hip hop and K-pop, and can't wait to try jazz funk). It starts off with warm-up/stretching but with upbeat music and some moves are fun even on their own. Instructors come up with their own choreo and teach it step by step, repeating sections which are harder to pick up, first without music then with. They are really patient and will answer any questions. After each lesson, I feel full of energy and very happy! I was initially afraid that I would feel embarrassed since I have no dancing background, but I feel very comfortable and have a lot of fun! :) I will definitely be signing up for more dance passes once I am in Toronto again. ~
