| - I just moved to Phoenix and needed to find an Internist. I found Dr. Laura K. O'Malley through the Internet and met with her yesterday
All I can say is that I was blown away by my experience here.
I showed up about 5 minutes before my appointment. I was supposed to be there 30 minutes ahead, but work and a huge project prevented me from making it there 30 minutes before my appointment. The girl who checked me in was more than a bit irritated with me and looked at me as if she wasn't going to allow me to get into my appointment because I wasn't there 30 minutes early, but I explained to her that I was going to cancel my appointment, but ended up just rushing to get there from work to make it. I also mentioned that I got lost getting there - my first time in the area. She had to "win" the argument by saying, well, I told you the directions on the phone. Ok, darling. You're right. That wasn't the point. I was explaining why I showed up 5 minutes before my appointment and not 30 minutes as requested Life happens Move on.
Anyway, thankfully the gate-keeper worked with me and "allowed" me to get my paperwork done - done within 5 minutes by the way.
I would have totally not liked this place because of their front staff, but the day and experience was saved by Dr. Laura K. O'Malley. This woman is outstanding. She spends an HOUR with new patients, interviews you about your history and current lifestyle and treats you like a friend. She doesn't talk to you like she's MISS doctor and you're the patient. She keeps everything on an even level.
This was the BEST experience I've ever had with an Internist. She is funny, approachable, kind, professional, caring and VERY cool. I am so glad that I found her. She also did a very thorough physical with appropriate tests and made sure to order all records from my previous physicians
If you need an Internist, go to her! You won't be disappointed. Just make sure you're there 30 minutes early or else you'll get the stink eye from the receptionist.
Oh, I forgot, wait time is zilch. I went right in on my appointed time. Nice to know that they value your time as much as theirs.
