First off I wanna commend this establishment for their consistent IG marketing. They have great stories and uploads, so they definitely know how to attract a crowd. In all honesty, that's how I caught wind of it.
Sukoshi Mart is tucked in a small 300-500 sq ft nook of Kensington Market. If you need landmarks, it's very close to the Toronto Popcorn shop.
It's a little market that sells a small selection of quick bites, prepackaged foods, East Asian makeup, and character-themed stationary as well as accessories. Think of your regular East Asian supermarket but minimized and devoid of fresh produce.
The TL;DR conclusion..
Pros:
- Has both prepackaged foods and freshly made one bite snacks for busy bodies
- cute mascot
- friendly staff
- Excellent IG marketing
- mochi is the best food item there
- a microwave is at the back for your use
Cons:
- taiyaki is dry with little filling
- the prices are above average compared to large supermarkets like T&T
- there are steps from the door into the shop, so it's not accessible for everyone
