rev:text	Red Velvet Waffles. S'mores French Toast. I love how when it comes to breakfast, you can add tons of junkfood to any staple and suddenly it's a perfectly acceptable meal. It's like calling something a muffin instead of a cupcake...no guilt when you eat your non-cupcake at 7:30a.m. Thanks to the fabulous Yelp reviews we used the occasion of out-of-town friends passing thru CLT as an excuse to head south and meet the fine people at Terrace. Here are the reasons for my four stars and new devotion: 1: Call ahead seating and very sweet and efficient hostesses. Makes life MUCH easier when the wait is 45min, it's sahara hot and you're schlepping two toddlers. 2: Samples of fresh, warm, house made donuts while you wait. 3: Contemporary yet comfortable atmosphere. You are equally at home in shorts/tee or a cute summer dress. 4: The service was outstanding. 5: The food was, quite simply, delicious. I do think the Red Velvet Waffle was a bit overpriced for what it is, but the S'mores french toast are so rich and gooood. The omeletts are big and full of whatever your heart desires. Shrimp and grits had a nice flavor and texture BUT isn't much food if you have a big eater in your party. They bring snacks for the kids, deliver their food ASAP and are very engaging w/them. The servers are all helpful and concerned about your experience. Overall, a great dining experience and our friends are looking fwd to heading this way again soon for another go 'round. :)
