  • When your AC's out.... And your house is hot... Who ya gonna call? Parker & Sons! Seriously, what a lifesaver! Anyone who has lived in AZ for awhile has most likely had that horrible moment when you realize that your AC is broken and your home is inevitably going to keep getting hotter until it matches the 100+ temps outside the walls. If you're special (like me), you've had this happen multiple times and have experienced the joy of trying to sleep through the night with only a cotton sheet pulled fresh from the freezer as any hope for relief. When my AC went out this evening, I was certain that I would be facing one of those hot, sweaty nights. At 7pm on a Saturday night, and on a day when Phoenix broke a 30-year heat record, how could I possibly get someone? In comes the handy existing Yelp reviews on Parker & Sons: true to most of the other reviews, these guys rock! I called the main number, a technician called me directly 10 minutes later and asked some diagnostic questions about my problem. He said he would be there within an hour, and sure enough -- he was! He had the problem fixed within 15 minutes (my capacitor was shot). My technician explained that his shift was on-call from midnight to midnight and that it's not uncommon for them to be taking calls at 10-11pm. This blows my mind since every other time my AC has gone out, companies have told me that there's no way to get same-day service. They charge a $69 fee to come out, which sounds steeper than some competitors, but if they do any parts or repairs, that fee is waived (so basically if they just need to flip a switch or something they are still going to charge you that $69 for their time, which seems fair). My total came to $199 and it was well worth it for a hassle-free fix and a peaceful and cool night's sleep.
