The Japanese Friendship Garden is a well maintained garden with a large Koi pond found in the downtown Phoenix area. It appears that many visitors come to the garden specifically to take pictures along the pond, or well manicured vegetation. This is also a great place for children. Staff in the admissions building will try to make you pay admission for your child no matter what age they are. I was charged $5 for a 2 year old...Please see their website- children under 6 are FREE. You can also purchase fish food and feed the Koi. Be cautious however because the pigeons and even the ducks at times can get a little aggressive, especially if you are feeding the fish along the bridge area.
