  • Not happy with my lower face lift. I cancelled my first surgery appointment because I didn't like what Dr. Kotoske suggested...was going to be too pulled and have the reptile look....which I said I definitely didn't want. I stressed that I wanted to look natural and not over pulled. Got my deposit back. I waited and went back for a second consultation and explained at length that I didn't want to look un-naturally pulled....didn't want the reptile look where the face muscle is pulled straight back instead of upward. We had a long conversation about not doing too much and just pull the jawline upward so my mouth has a "smile" instead of turning downward and tightening the neck. My jawline would be noticeable again...not have the sagging. Well.....you guessed it. I can't figure out what he did....instead of having the jawline of 4 years ago, it looks like I have chipmunk cheeks when I smile. The jawline wasn't pulled up as discussed but straight back and has a full look to it. The corners of my mouth still tilt downward. My face doesn't even look like me anymore. Instead of the narrow face I used to have, it has a full look to it. If that wasn't disappointing enough, my hearing has been effected. Both ears have a "muffled" issue....the left ear worse than the right. It's like cotton is in my ears. His suggestion is to have my ears cleaned because there may be dried blood in them. So I went to a Hearing specialist to have them cleaned and they said there's nothing to clean...so they just sent me home. It's been 6 months and I now have an appointment with a reconstructive plastic surgeon this coming week to see if he can correct what was done. I should have trusted my first instinct and cancelled the whole thing with him. UPDATE: May 2017 It has now been a year since that horrible lower face lift. I still have sagging and fullness along my jawline...it seems he may have moved one of my face muscle pads lower so it sits on my jawline now instead of pulling it up....looks HORRIBLE. The corners of my mouth still turn downward but are more pronounced because of the fullness in the jawline. I HIGHLY recommend going somewhere else. I would post a current photo if I could figure out how to....a picture would speak more than I could.
