| - In the world of Amazon, Nordstrom, et al, sometimes you just want to give a new retailer a try -- whether for shits & giggles, or just because you want to try and support a new entity.
In the case of Feature Sneaker Boutique, wow, what a mistake on my part. Fortunately, it's a loss of less than $75.
I shopped online:
I ordered a pair of sneakers for my BF. I thought he was a size 13. Turns out he's a 12. The price was right, but stupidly, I didn't look on YELP first -- had I, I would have avoided this retailer altogether!!! Well, I made the purchase.
1. Shipping is hugely expensive.
2. They don't cover the cost of the return.
3. They won't refund you --even if you do return -- so you're FORCED to either lose your money or pay for shipping again. And nowhere in the checkout process do they tell you this!
4. And if you foolish enough to "try" again with this bunch, you'll have to PAY for shipping a THIRD time! Great way to win over your customer -- long term!
5. Spent :30 minutes hunting down where to return or any other "policy" as it's not prominently posted -- and now I know why: If it were, no one would shop there!
I've been in retail a long, long time. A retailer that FORCES you to make another purchase AND pay for shipping (again and again) or lose your money is in an entirely different kind of business -- not retail. You can likely figure out what kind of business that is! What happens in Vegas really does stay in Vegas!
I personally felt forced, bent over a barrel to BUY something. Not cool. Not fun. Not happening. These folks need a ring from the FTC!
No, I'll never shop with Featured again, happily tell those I know personally to avoid them. Can't imagine they'll last with their current policies. I've had better treatment from Ebay sellers and they'll refund you! That pretty much says it all!
Sadly, FEATURE SNEAK(ER) BOUTIQUE has made it that much harder for me to invest my hard earned dollars in a any NEW retailer. I'll just stick with Zappos, Nordies, 6pm, etc.
As for me, I'll call my credit card company, donate the shoes, and get a chargeback. Done.
Good luck Feature Sneak(er) Boutique -- you're gonna need it.
