I was pretty excited to try this place based on the mostly positive reviews. Sadly, mine is not one of them.
My wife and I came for lunch and was seated pretty quickly. We ordered our usual quantity of nigiri and appetizers for the first round.
Appetizers were ok. The dynamite was below average. Nigiri sushi had way too much rice and the slices of fish were not top quality and were inconsistent. We noticed that when we picked up the nigiri sushi to eat, the rice fell apart, making it difficult to dip into the soy sauce.
We had ordered 8 orders of salmon nigiri on the first round but 8 orders of red snapper came out instead, which my wife tried and commented that it looked and tasted like talapia. The waitress commented that she had thought we wanted snapper, not salmon. Do they sound alike?
Anyway, after the initial order, we ordered maybe a few more appetizers and a couple more nigiri. Not much better. The karaage chicken tasted microwaved and was not crisp. We lost all appetite and opted to just finish what we had and leave. Usually when I leave a ayce sushi bar for lunch, I don't even want to think of dinner. Today I left hungry.
We keep comparing other sushi places to Doh Sushi on Spring Mountain and have not found anyplace that has the same quality, service and menu as they have.
Of all the ayce sushi places we have tried, Naka Sushi is definitely on the bottom of the list.
