I've only been here a few times, but I always seem to have fun. Was itching to get out of the house last night, and couldn't decide where to go...enticed by the promise of "House music with a French touch" I strapped on my dancin' shoes and off I went to Augusta House.
Indeed, the music was great. I think they have different music depending on the night you go, but when I've been it's always been some type of house or electro. The dance floor is small, but adequate. And if dancing's not your thing there's plenty of tables, chairs and couches for hanging out. Like a lot of places this spot doesn't fill up until later in the night (last night it was almost empty until 11:30 pm) which can be good or bad depending on what you're looking for.
Definitely a relaxed environment...no need to worry about a dress code or anything like that. Overall the people were pretty awesome. Yes, lots of hipsters, but that's pretty unavoidable in this part of town. Another big plus is that it's not sketchy at all. I find that often when I go dancing the club/patrons are either way pretentious or way sketchy (or both) but as I mentioned, Augusta is definitely a little different. I tend to go out by myself and it's nice to feel at ease like that.
Also--cheap drinks. Who doesn't appreciate that? I think shots are like $3 all night...not too shabby.
Will definitely be back!
