| - Where to begin...EXCELLENT! AMAZING! We visited last Friday for a 1 night staycation, thank you Groupon! It was still pricey for us but definitely nice to go on a discounted rate. Pulling into the main entrance area is a little confusing...they kind of take your car away on Valet. They tell you it's how they do it, you have til 10pm to get you car, no fee...find out what room you get then get your car after. So our car left us..still felt comfused but we moved on. The check in line was long at 5pm but we were entertained by robots in the waiting area and plenty of sights to take in as we waited. BRANDON at the front desk was very kind personable and knowledgeable, great customer service! Also super fabulous customer service from THOMAS who greeted us at the lobby door. He took extra time to walk us towards and point us indirection of our room. Went above & beyond. Immaculate grounds, beautiful scenery. Our room was AWSOME. A Fairmont room. It was so spacious, nice long wide hallway as you enter, huge walk in closet, huge bathroom...on further down the hall to the sleeping area. FLUFFY amazing beds and bedding...2 robes...nice big sliding glass door to an outside patio and pretty scenery. We did see a few tiny ants dancing on our nightstand and alarm clock but it wasn't enough to ruin the room. They did not reappear. We did have an issue with logging onto WIFI..Followed all instructions, still no go. Called the front desk, they called me by a different last name. While on the phone fixing it...other guests walked into our room! That explains the wrong name, they had 2 different families checked into the same room. Luckily it was resolved easily and lucky for us we were all just sitting around...not caught changing or doing anything else Unfortunately we did lose some swim time due to rain. They could not allow the pools to open unless lightning was 10 miles or further out. Once they did open tho...the party began! The Sonoran Splash pool had an awsome retro glow DJ music party...as much fun for the adults as the kids, we loved it! Met bartender DRAGON there and....yet another amazing wonderful employee. He took good care of us at the bar and made sure the kids had some extra chocolate in their fancy Cake Topper drink LoL. He made them feel special. Very nice genuine hard working employee. Nobody let the rain delay get the best of them. The staff worked hard getting it all ready yet still made conversation with the guests. DJ Splash played great tunes for all ages. The pool with the beach sand (to die for!)was preparing for a dive in movie with a ginormous screen. Beautiful pool..so pleasing to the eyes. Great place to see the sunset colors bounce off the sand. Felt like we were truly somewhere other than the desert. We didn't spend much time there, kids wanted the water slide pool. On to the Princess Pool...nice that's it's open 24 hrs but the water is TOO HOT. We went in at 11pm...too hot...next day 11am...tooo hot. Not comfortable, not refreshing. The kids didn't mind at night, they were living it up, but we all noticed it alot more in the hot sun. They offered a Ranger Rick program for the kids in the morning but we passed on that to hit the pools. We made it to Sonoran Splash at 1030...and not a single chair available. All seats taken by towels, some with other belongings, but mostly just towels. We circled around a good 20 min before finding 1 chair for the 4 of us. We kept eyes open for people leaving but others flocked to the seats faster. And people rarely left. We ate poolside just to ensure not losing our 1 seat... and that sure was pricey. They offer an $18 cheeseburger... $4 to add fries. We stuck with $8 chicken fingers and truly it was delicious and generous portions. We spent the day sharing our 1 chair so we could get occasional chair. I'd have to say lack of seating was our biggest issue. There wasn't even a place to just set belongings only. We gave our kids the chair and went to the adult pool for a bit. Seating was slim here too...but we had a great time. We appreciate the sunblock and the aloe vera cups made available, for free.
So my pros. ...awsome room, awsome pools, awsome staff!!! Goooo Princess, you are near perfect
Cons...lack of seating at the pools & high food/drink costs. You could easily find food elsewhere but if it's your day of checkout your card will not allow you back into the gates after noon
