My new house (new to me) was in desperate need of new carpet. The previous owners had the old carpet cleaned for me but it didn't do much. There were still gross stains and the strong smell of stale cigarettes. When I called Empire Today they had a half priced deal going on. I got my whole house re-carpeted for $1900. That was for nearly 800 square feet in the dining room, living room, hallway, two bedrooms and two walk-in closets. I got a mid-grade carpet with a heavy foam pad.
The consultant came out and took all the measurements he needed to calculate the total square footage and price. He gave me a quote on re-tiling the bathrooms too but I decided against that for the time being. He was not pushy and didn't try to sell me on what I didn't need. He let me make my decisions.
On installation day, three guys showed up. One was only there to go over the procedure and get me to sign the paper work. He left and the other two stayed behind to get the job done. I was told it would take between 4 and 5 hours and it did indeed. The guys stopped for a couple of quick breaks and I offered them a few bottles of water. They were working their butts off for me.
When the job was done, they left my house clean and feeling fresh. My new carpet looks great and the smell of smoke is nearly all gone. Getting this new carpet was a great decision.
