| - Oh Aritzia... I am conflicted about this store. I'll just break it down into +/-.
The Good:
- Aesthetically pleasing place to browse
- They have nice leather chairs/sofas for your male shopping partner to sit
- Canadian (well, at least their house brands TNA, Talula, Wilfred)
- Good selection of denim, outerwear, basic tees, dressier stuff for work or going out
- For petite gals, they have XXS and 00
- They actually play pretty good music: http://soundcloud.com/aritzia
- There are occasional good deals (best bet: July/August or January/February for markdowns), I have bought jeans here for 40% off and shoes over 50% off
The Bad:
- Full of teeny boppers (13 year olds can wear the XXS and 00)
- Some of the stuff *everyone* will have (e.g. the TNA winter coat, the Marc Jacobs bags)
- They make you lock up your purse and shopping bags if you want to try something on
- The security guards staring at you as you browse
- NO mirrors in the change room, so you have to awkwardly try and see how you look while sharing the small mirror with lots of other people
- ... and yes, they are judging you when you come out of the change room
- Most of the time, the sales are really lame. Like $5 off a $100 item. Wow.
- Some of the salesgirls are really pushy. Like, "You're not sure? Just buy it, and if you change your mind come back and return it." Hmm... how about no?
So, in summary, it's not bad enough for me to avoid the store altogether... but there are definitely better options for womenswear. If you are going to shop here, try not to go after work or on a Saturday afternoon, when it gets super-crowded.
