| - Not gonna lie, I'm a frequent flier here!
Now, don't shop here on a weekend, unless you wish to play bumper carts with other shoppers. TOTAL waste of time to do that. Fighting the crowds just to get around the aisles, then spend 30 - 40 + minutes waiting at checkout, meh - fa get about it!
I prefer the weekday shopping - preferably around lunchtime. And staff seem to be much more willing to help you out, and are much happier in greeting you. (there's a couple of ladies that are posted at the entrance and exit, who are NOT so pleasant to customers, but I try to avoid interaction with them as much as possible)
The meats are pretty accurate in accordance to the community pricing, but you tend to get way more for your money! Produce items are always tasty! Have to use them quickly or they can go bad soon, but if you have a good friend you can split stuff on, then you have it made!
Wines vary throughout the year, but you can find some great deals for under $8! One of my personal favs is the cupcake wine. If you haven't had it yet - ummm - just get a bottle and be prepared for a surprising variety of flavor!! Perfect as a dessert wine after meals, but if you are drinking it with dinner, then it can have a very mellow flavor. Hard liquor is plentiful as well, and of good quality. So you can't go wrong with your $ here! WAY better than Lee's!
Love getting some of my daughter's clothing here - very well priced, and good quality! And I'll admit, yes I buy some of my clothes here as well.
I have been to the optical department here, and I got the best bang for my buck with my recent glasses purchase! Now I have the traditional coke bottle lenses (not lying), and was able to get the frames (with UV protected clip on shades), lenses (the thinnest version) which included: scratch protection, anti glare/refection, transition coating, AND UV protection for under $300 (I will normally end up paying more than that for glasses at the eye docs)!!! I HUNT for the best bargain on my glasses when it comes time for new glasses. So far these things are holding out awesome! No they weren't designer frames, but that's not the important fact - they do the job is!
Haven't used the pharmacy dept., so can't comment there. Photo service is fast.
In regards to electronics - we have been pleased. We bought a Vizio TV a couple of years back, and for the most part it works great. A couple of glitches in the TV itself, but it stems from the Vizio company, and not CostCo's fault really. If you video game - you can get some games for a decent price, but most of the time it's comparible to what you find in the market. Same for DVD's, but sometimes there are some really good deals to get.
TONS of books! I try to avoid purchasing them, as I haven't been reading all that much lately, and prefer to use the library before buying. (cheaper that way!)
Try to do your shopping according to the coupons they have, or their special sales. That will help you save even more in the long run!
Not sure about the other locations in the valley, but for this location - you can buy some Hawaiian goodies here every once in a while. Pretty good to know this in advance!
