  • I reserved here a non-smoking room for my wife, baby and me as I waited last minute to make a reservation. I have stayed at other Motel 6s and the experience had been great. Not here. As soon as we opened the door before we went in, the stench of cigarette and detergent slapped us right away. I had to buy an antihistamine for my wife, who could not breathe properly. The ash tray was turned upside down with a non-smoking sticker on it. Obviously, non-smoking for them means flipping the ash tray and calling it a non-smoking room. The bedsheets had smoke burns in them. Someone was smoking at our door and the front desk said they couldn't do anything because the guest was outside. Obviously, they don't have smoking and non-smoking rooms. The meaning here is whatever they make it. The second night, we were awoken at 3am by the guest next door who was knocking and cursing at his wife for having locked him out. We had a great time in Scottsdale, but cringed every time we had to go back to sleep. The front desk people were very nice, though.
