Cliffs: skip this place and go immediately to Tech Zone at the Illini Union.
Had an issue with my Macbook Pro where someone dropped it and the trackpad wasn't working properly. I brought it here and was somehow quoted $1400+ for some very intensive repair work - I still don't know exactly what they were trying to do. My laptop worked perfectly fine aside from the trackpad which I clearly stated when I gave them my laptop, yet it seems they were trying to replace most of the hardware inside my laptop.
Then I took my laptop to the Tech Zone area in the Illini Union where they offered to diagnose the problem for $30 with an estimated $250 repair to replace the trackpad/keyboard/battery apparatus. They called me an hour later to suggest a solution that would cost me $0 which worked just fine for me. They even waived the diagnostic fee, saying "we're not going to charge you $30 to click a box."
In summary, Simply Mac tried to charge me over $1400 to make a bunch of completely unnecessary repairs. Tech Zone at the Illini Union fixed my problem for free and waived the diagnostic fee.
