  • I came to Vegas on a last minute trip and found this hotel close to both the airport and the strip and stayed for a week. Its very convenient in that regard, and there is a free shuttle that runs to Mandalay Bay and Aria (putting you very close to the center of the "new" strip) between 7am-1am. It's also right near Hustler's and Crazy Horse III "Gentleman's Clubs" within very easy walking distance/stumbling distance if you are interested in those kinds of things. There is a free breakfast in the morning and you can buy dinner after 5pm, the latter is very reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and easy to work with. The rooms are clean and the bed (I got a king) is very comfortable and clean. There are a couple of things that I think are slightly below par, however. The rooms are only cleaned once every other day if you have a longer than an overnight stay. It was somewhat surprising to come to your room in the afternoon and not have the turn down service and trash taken out. On the third day, I placed my trash outside the door in the morning and on that same day, my room was also cleaned that day. I just thought that odd for a Marriott Hotel. Be aware, fast food companies place their menus under the door every day. While not a huge deal, I thought that kind of soliciting caused some concern about who is allowed in the hotel. It's not a huge deal, just not something I was expecting here, perhaps from a lower-end hotel I would. There is a pool, a fitness center, and a decent business center. There is also a bar that has fairly decent hours that is stocked with beer, wine, and cocktails. The breakfast buffet is wonderful. There is a lot of fresh fruit available, and eggs made-to-order, as well as they will make you a waffle if you are so inclined. So why only three stars? -There is no microwave in my* room. That would have cut some cost as I would not have had to buy meals (or at least meals that require heating) to save some money. They offer frozen food for sale down in the lobby between the restaurant hours, but it would be more convenient to have it in my room. *In discussing this with some of the patrons and co-workers, some people do have microwaves in their rooms. That's a little frustrating. -The mini fridge doesn't hold very much, a few cans of soda and some lunch meat fills the fridge up very quickly. -There is only one washer and dryer, so if you only pack for a couple of days worth of clothes to save on baggage fees, it could be a hassle with the numerous guest staying there. Additionally, the dryer vent hose is backed up and its pretty obvious when you walk into the little washer/dryer room where the dryer is venting to (into the room). Consequently, it requires multiple cycles in the dryer to actually be dry. If you have the time, you are better off hanging your laundry in your room after one cycle and cranking up the A/C to lower the humidity in the room to aid in drying your clothes (that is what I did). These are all things that I considered to be normal with staying at a Marriott brand hotel. I don't consider these luxuries, but commodities for this chain. Otherwise, I'd be giving this place a 4.0-4.5 score. Other than that, it is what you expect from a Marriott hotel. Next time, If I stay here, I will insist on at least a room with a microwave oven in it.
