| - This must be what it feels like when you workout like a celeb. I purchased a 20 class pass special when they opened and wanted to reserve my review until I had the opportunity to sample a wide range of classes and teachers.
The classes are great, and small. The gravity machines are unique, and provide a great workout. The yoga (although not hot enough for me) is really good. And infrared heated when its hot. Night Yoga is candle-lit and in the summer they have ROOFTOP yoga. It is lovely looking up and seeing the clouds. The teachers are top quality including the Joga with Jana series, which is good enough for the Argos. (Hey they have to be strong)
I have attended 10 classes or so at this point and every single one of them KICKED MY ASS. Its like having a personal trainer every single time. I thought I was in pretty good shape from all the yoga and spinning I do. This gym makes me wimper like a dog. I am glistening in sweat within 5 min every time. And its close enough to walk home - yeah!
is a really really nice gym. And they have Aveda products. And the other people working out are friendly. No avoiding eye contact, no pretention, no attitude like my other gym. Lots of options for beginners and moms as well.
Cute little patio lounge to hang out. My workout buddy and I have chilled out there without anyone bothering us, and its lovely.
Plus "Oh its ok miss Myers, we already checked you in!" "uh no, did my friend sign me in?" "Nope I saw you!" Would you like some David's Tea? David's Tea comes free with a membership. I like having someone remember my name. Oh, and give me tea.
It is expensive. But if you (like me) have a full time gym membership AND passes for a yoga studio its about the same. If you plan on attending 3x a week its a good value. My only complaint is that there is no individual fitness (ie treadmills) or spinning classes. For the monthly price I would like a more full service gym. That is, really, my only complaint. Maybe they can annex the building next door or something. Jilly's has the room I am sure.
Really, I give this gym a 4.5, but I'm bumping to a five because they deserve it. Get an around-the-gym pass for 14 days for $20 and see for yourself.
