I remember being in this area around 2003 and coming across a Canadian Tire store on my way home. I decided to take a look inside and upon entering there was a guy in a white shirt (perhaps a manager) who didn't even greet me but flat out said that I have to leave my backpack at the front counter. There was no such policy posted anywhere in the store and I never heard of such a thing. He might as well have said that he didn't trust me and thought that I would steal something. I was a lot younger and maybe it could have been because of my cultural background, but I didn't object at the time. I only looked around for a few minutes because I felt so uncomfortable leaving my personal belongings in an unfamiliar store with people I didn't even know, and the employee in the white shirt wasn't very welcoming either. I took my stuff and left but this memory has stuck with me.
Fast forward to earlier in 2015. My friend was looking for an item that was no longer available in all the other Canadian Tire locations that we had visited. I remembered a store being in this area so we ended up coming here. It was on a weekday, perhaps around 4pm. The weather was warm and the snow was long gone but when we got to the store it was closed. Spring is when customers like me come out of hibernation and venture out to do some shopping. Other customers who drove up were also puzzled. A sign at the front door mentioned that they were closed for inventory. I have never seen a big chain store completely shut down during peak business hours for inventory. There are perhaps other more suitable times to be closed. What kind of morons run this place?
