  • **LIARS**SCAMMERS!!**LIARS*** I was approached at my home by PE Solar for installation of solar hot water heaters. The man, Conrad, that came to my door was very pleasant and polite and told me that the company was GIVING away FREE solar hot water heaters to "approved" homes under their "model home program". The model home program was for home owners who were not in foreclosure or delinquent on their mortgage. The home also had to sit in a high traffic area and be neat, well maintained and have good curb appeal. Our home and finances fit their search criteria for receiving a FREE solar hot water heater. The catch was that the salesman was to come to my home for a 'meeting' in 2 days. I asked several times if they wanted me to BUY, LEASE or purchase the solar heater or any other products. Conrad assured me that was NOT the case. The following day, I called PE Solar and spoke to their customer service agent. (The website states it is family owned, however, the customer service agent was clearly reading off of cue cards!!) I asked the following questions: 1. Is this a lease program with a lease contract on the water heater?--NO 2.Do I have to purchase this heater myself and then get reimbursed?--NO 3. Is the representative going to try to sell me other products, services or ask me to buy anything when he comes to my home?--NO 4.Why are they giving me a FREE solar water heater ?-- BECAUSE I QUALIFY UNDER THE MODEL HOME PROGRAM 5. What is the MODEL HOME PROGRAM?-- "Our company sets aside marketing money for advertisement. Because your home sits in a prominent location in a selected area (Scottsdale), we want to use your home as a way of advertising. We ONLY ask that in return for a FREE solar hot water heater, we be allowed to place our business sign in front of your home for a minimum of 12 months and if people/neighbors ask you about it, you respond with positive feedback and tell them we installed it for you. Is out way of advertising and you benefit from it. We hope that your neighbors will come to us for future business." That all made total sense to me......and I FELL for it!! When the gentleman from PE Solar came to my home, he was clean & polite....... BUT......he wanted us to TAKE OUT A LOAN TO *****BUY***** his solar hot water heater and then wait for some rebates to come in!! (See questions #2) !!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I told him what his customers service agents response was to my questions (I had taken notes), he simply said, "Well, Im sorry, we are just trying to create new business !" and he packed his things and left! I would also like to add that although the website states that it is a family owned business, I had yet to meet anyone that was part of the family. The first 2 contacts were not family (I asked). and the representative at my house, when asked if he was a family member or owner, he simply stated "I am a 'partner' "...so I am wondering where the family is that owns this place????? CREEPY UPDATE!!!!-- A few days after writing this review, I heard a knock on my front door at 7:30pm. I was working on some papers and my son yelled that 'some guy' was at the door for me. Here is what happened: "Tell him I'm not interested!" I shouted to my 12 yr old son. "My Mom isnt interested" "Tell your mother I need to speak to her, please" "Mom! He said he neeeeeds to speak wth you." "Who is it??" I asked. "Who are you?" he asks the guy at the door. "Im from Pure Solar". At this point, I heard his response and got up and walked to the door. Apparently after reading my review the came to apologize and tell me that they 'reprimanded' Conrad for leading me to believe something other than what they do. "Why did your customer service agents tell me the same thing then?" (I wondered if the customer service department got 'reprimanded' as well..??) I tried to tell him that I didnt really want to discuss it and that they were wasting my time, but he kept prodding and telling me that he wanted to make it up to us and that many other customers were really happy with their services. So, I asked him to tell those happy customers to write some good reviews for him!...and really.....how was he going to make it up to me anyway (I asked)...... By sitting down and explaining their services again!! hahahaaaahahahaaaaa.......yes, he was serious!!! Basically I just shut the door and shook my head. This may be considered hearsay, however I have a friend that claims that this company did the same to her but after they came back to my house she was afraid to write a negative review since she lived alone and didnt want a return visit. PS- I am laughing at the owners "Animated review" and "Filtered reviews" comments. I would also like to say that if the MODEL HOME OFFER was NOT offered to me...How the heck would I have heard about it?? YOU literally knocked on MY door!! I didn't come searching out solar businesses! Just goes to show what a bunch of BS-ers they are here..
